Teacher's Guide to Organizing and Managing the Classroom
This dynamic presentation provides educators with many practical examples for setting up and running an effective classroom for students with autism and/or other developmental disabilities. The Pyramid Approach to Education is reviewed and participants learn to apply these components to the classroom. Topics include physical set up of the room, use of reinforcement systems, determining appropriate lesson formats and data collection. In addition, many organizational tips are provided so that materials are accessible to students/staff and schedules are in place for students/staff. Participants will leave with easy to implement strategies that will improve any educational environment.

- How to identify key components of the Pyramid that are needed to set up a classroom
- How to incorporate components of the Pyramid to improve educational environments from preschool through high school
- How to define staff roles and responsibilities to improve classroom management
- How to organize the classroom setting and materials to improve educational performance
